JAKARTA - Indonesian police have made some arrests related to the August 5 hotel bombing in Jakarta which killed 12 people. National detective chief, Erwin Mappaseng, did not disclose the number or say how closely the detainees are believed linked to the JW Marriott blast. He says police chief Dai Bachtiar will announce details in one or two days.
Mr Mappaseng says suspects were detained outside Jakarta and "the arrests were made with sufficient evidence." Officials suspect the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) terror group staged the hotel blast, in addition to the Bali nightclub bombings last October that killed 202 people and a string of other deadly attacks.
