JAKARTA - Weather scientists at the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) are ready to lower Jakarta's precipitation at any time, an agency spokesman said on Monday. "We are ready. We are prepared to go into action 12 hours after receiving an order. We are now waiting for an order," said Bambang Setiadi, deputy head of the agency's natural resource development section, as quoted by Antara. He made the statement while briefing Jakarta cityadministration officials about weather modification technology at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in East Jakarta. Weather modification technology is the only means available in Indonesia to reduce rainfall, he said.
