1.005 cases of Mexican flu in Indonesia According to the Department of Health in Indonesia, there were 57 new cases of H1N1 Mexican flu in the country. Only laboratory confirmed cases are counted. In total there are now 1.005 cases of the disease confirmed in Indonesia alone.

Almost 1.000 cases of H1N1 in Indonesia Indonesia has confirmed 22 new cases of the H1N1 Mexican Flu virus, putting the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 930, a Health Ministry official said here Wednesday. Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health of the ministry, Prof. Dr. Tjandra Yoga Aditama, said that the virus spread to 24 out of 33 provinces in Indonesia.

One more dead of H1N1 Mexican Flu in Indonesia Indonesia recorded 34 people newly infected by A/H1N1 virus, putting the total cases to 872 in the country, Health Ministry said in a statement on Sunday. One person has also died of the virus. The virus has now spread to over half of Indonesia's 33 provinces. Details about where the new cases were found, or where the person died of the virus, have not been made public.

771 cases of Mexican flu in Indonesia The Indonesian health ministry has announced that they have found 80 new cases of H1N1 in seven provinces across the country. They were comprised of 32 men and 48 women. All of them are Indonesian citizens. The new patients came from Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, Lampung, Aceh and Riau provinces.

Indonesia reports third death of H1N1 Mexican flu A two year-old Indonesian girl has died after contracting the H1N1 Mexican flu virus, putting the total death by the virus in the country to three out. A total of 662 persons are infected, according to the Department of Health. The girl underwent treatment in a hospital when she showed respiratory problems, pneumonia and a fever before she died on August 3.

24-year old dies of Mexican Flu in Jakarta A patient infected with the H1N1 flu died on Sunday after being treated for several days at the Persahabatan Hospital in Jakarta. She died due to severe complications and was being treated for the H1N1 virus for at least one week. She also suffered from pneumonia before she was infected with H1N1. The doctor said the complication then caused bacteria to enter her lungs which caused her to die of heart failure.

561 cases of Mexican flu in Indonesia Over the last few days, the Department of Health in Indonesia has announced almost 100 new cases of H1N1 Mexican Flu in the country. The total of confirmed infections in the country now stands at 561. The disease has now spread to 17 of the 33 provinces. Among the most recent new cases, 41 announced earlier today, were five foreigners and three of the cases have recently returned from outside the country.

Two hospitals refuse patients suspected of having H1N1 The number of patients that are suspected of having H1N1 Mexican Flu has increased to 89 in total. Earlier today, the Haji Hospital and Soetomo Hospital in the city of Surabaya in East Java started to refuse new possible patients originating from the pesantren (Islamic boarding school) Al Fitra. The Haji Hospital says that their isolation rooms are all full. The Sutomo Hospital says that three santri do not need to be observed in the hospital.

479 cases of Mexican Flu in Indonesia The Department of Health in Indonesia has announced that the total number of cases of H1N1 Mexican Flu in the country has increased by 35. The total of patients in Indonesia is now totaling 479, of which only one patient has died. Most of the patients were Indonesians, only five of the newly confirmed cases are foreigners in Indonesia.

Dozens of santri positive for Mexican Flu Dozens of santri (schoolchildren of Islamic boarding school) of Pesantren Al Fitrah in Surabaya are currently being treated in the Haji Sukolilo hospital. A number of them has already tested positive for H1N1 Mexican flu while test results for the others are not known yet.

416 cases of Mexican Flu in Indonesia Indonesia again confirmed 16 people infected by H1N1 virus, bringing the total number of patients to 416, a director at the Health Ministry said here Monday in a statement. Tjandra Yoga Aditama said that one of the cases had recently returned from Hong Kong. The European Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ECDC confirms that 1.000 people have died of the novel virus worldwide.

362 cases of Mexican Flu in Indonesia Indonesian authorities announced 19 more cases of H1N1 Mexican flu yesterday, putting the total number of infections in Indonesia to 362. Two of the 19 newly reported cases concerned foreigners who were traveling to the country. Six of the Indonesians had a recent history of traveling to Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan, Morocco, the Netherlands and Singapore a short while ago.

First death related to Mexican flu in Indonesia A six-year old girl who had tested positive for the H1N1 virus has died in a hospital. The girl, who has other health problems including pneumonia in the last recent years died on July 22. She was brought to the hospital with flu-like symptoms as fever, coughing and difficulty breathing.

Indonesian student with H1N1 dies in Malaysia An Indonesian student studying in Malaysia has become the first A/H1N1 flu related fatality in the country, a Malaysian health official said here on Thursday. The student, aged around 30, once was a confirmed patient of the flu, but he died from cardiac arrest, instead of the flu itself, Malaysian Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai said.

157 cases of Mexican Flu in Indonesia Swine flu cases which were found in Indonesia for the first time late last month, have continued to increase and spread to other regions, the Ministry of Health said. The ministry in a press release said on Thursday it had recorded 15 new cases so that the total number of patients suspected to have contracted the H1N1 strain of virus had reached 157.

112 cases of Mexican Flu in Indonesia Indonesia has recorded 26 new A/H1N1 flu cases, bringing the total in the country to 112, Health Ministry said in a statement issued here on Tuesday. The 26 persons comprised two foreigners and 24 Indonesians, of whom 16 were being treated at hospitals in Jakarta, one in Medan of North Sumatra, six in Banten, one in Surabaya of east Java and two in Manado of North Sulawesi, Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health of the ministry Tjandra Yoga Aditama said in the statement.

86 cases of Mexican Flu in Indonesia Indonesia confirmed that 22 more people are infected by the H1N1 Mexican flu virus, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 86, according to the Health Ministry in a statement which was released yesterday evening. All new cases were Indonesians. Nine of them were male, 13 of them female. Most of them had recently returned from travel abroad from countries like the United States, Hong Kong, Turkey and Singapore.

Dutch boy suspected of having contracted Mexican Flu A student from the Netherlands which is visiting Maumere in the district of Sikka, East Nusa Tenggara province, is suspected of having contracted H1N1 Mexican flu. A medical team has already isolated the 13-year old in a special department of the T.C. Hillers general hospital. The identity of the boy has not been released. According to a doctor, the boy was brought to the hospital last Saturday.

64 cases of Mexican Flu in Indonesia The spread of the H1N1 Mexican Flu virus in Indonesia is picking up speed as it seems. The Department of Health has currently listed 64 people as being positively infected with the new virus that has killed over 500 people worldwide - but none in Indonesia yet - according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

52 cases of Mexican flu in Indonesia Confirmed cases of swine flu in Indonesia have nearly doubled, with the national total standing at 52, Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari said on Thursday. Three foreigners were among 24 new cases of (A)H1N1, which included a dozen confirmed human-to-human transmissions, Supari told. All the patients were being treated in hospitals in the capital Jakarta, the tourist island of Bali and Balikpapan city in East Kalimantan province, she said.

Three Medan residents test positive for Mexican Flu Three residents of the city of Medan, in North Sumatra, have tested positive for the H1N1 Mexican Flu. They are only identified as VC (20 years), WKC (9 years) and CV (17 years). They all live in the same street and are now treated in the Adam Malik general hospital in the city. Their blood samples were taken last Tuesday, when they were brought to the hospital, according to Azwan Lubis, the medical director of the hospital.

Two Balikpapan residents suspected of contracted H1N1 After there was just one case of suspected Mexican Flu in one South African national living in Balikpapan, Kalimantan, the provincial health services have now said that two Indonesians in Balikpapan might also have contracted the H1N1 flu virus. The two are being surveyed, but don't receive any special medical attention thus far.

12 new cases of Mexican Flu confirmed in Indonesia The number of A/H1N1 flu cases in Indonesia has reached 20 as 12 new cases were confirmed on Friday, the Health Ministry said. Of the 12 patients, eight are now receiving treatment in hospital in the capital Jakarta, and four others are being treated in Denpasar, Bali, Lily Sulistyowati, a spokesperson of the ministry said.

44 patients with suspected Mexican Flu in hospitals As much as 44 suspected cases of Mexican Flu are recorded in Indonesia at this moment. However information about most cases is limited, there are 14 suspected patients in a Jakarta hospital while 11 others are in the Sanglah general hospital on the resort island of Bali. 11 more suspected cases are treated in a hospital in Medan, North Sumatra.

Indonesia to ask tourists to wear masks Indonesia is planning to ask all people arriving from Australia and other swine flu-affected countries to wear face masks for at least three days, the health minister says. The presence of the A(H1N1) virus was confirmed in Indonesia only last week and so far four of the eight known cases have been foreigners.

Six infected with Mexican Flu in Indonesia The Minister of Public Health, Siti Fadilah Supari, has officially announced that there are currently six people in Indonesia who are found to be positive of having contracted the H1N1 Mexican Flu. At a press meeting at her house in Jakarta, the minister told that there were six people, three of them were foreigners and the other three were Indonesians.

Ms. Fadilah should thank Bobie for bringing Mexican flu A planeload full of Australian tourists heading for Bali may have been infected with Mexican Flu - or Swine Flu as the Indonesians still like to call it, showing that pigs are indeed bad. Garuda Indonesia flight 719 on June 19, 2009 was the flight that Bobie Masoner took. She is now on the isolation ward of the Sanglah hospital on Bali because she had contracted Mexican Flu earlier on, but only fell ill on Bali.

Indonesia confirms first two cases of Mexican Flu Officials confirmed Wednesday the country's first cases of the H1N1 flu after an Indonesian and a British tourist tested positive for the virus. Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari identified an Indonesian pilot who recently flew to Australia and Hong Kong, and a 22-year-old British tourist who has lived in Australia.

Two suspected Mexian Flu patients in Jakarta Two Chinese tourists that are on a visit in Indonesia have been brought to the Sulianti Saroso hospital in Jakarta after they showed symptoms of Mexican Flu. A spokesperson of the hospital confirmed that two people were brought in last night that showed the symptoms of H1N1.

Dutch tourist on Bali tests negative for Mexican Flu The Dutch tourist that was brought to the Sanglah general hospital yesterday after she was identified as a possible suspected case of Mexican Flu, Michele van Dorsen (32), has been sent home by the hospital earlier today because the tested negative for the H1N1 virus. She was released from the isolation room about half past eight this morning. "According to a lab test she is negative for H1N1," said a hospital spokesperson.

Dutch tourist on Bali suspected of having Mexican Flu A Dutch tourist which just arrived on the international airport of Ngurah Rai, on the resort island of Bali, has been brought to the Sanglah general hospital. It is suspected that the passenger has been infected with the H1N1 Mexican Flu virus. Michele van Dorsen has been put in isolation.

Pig farms in Balikpapan have to close in 2010 The city government of Balikpapan has decided to close down all pig farms within the city limits of the city in eastern Kalimantan in 2010. Farmers are given one year to prepare themselves for the closure. Based on information of the city government, there are currently 40 pig farms in the area. On average there are somewhere between 100 and 150 pigs in each farm.

Strict health checks on arrival for tourists on Bali Checks on foreign tourists arriving at Ngurah Rai international airport at the resort island of Bali has been tightened. Every arriving passenger is asked to report about their own health by filling in a form from the Department of Health. Passengers are positive about the checks, but think that the yellow cards from the department should be more simple.

Isolation rooms for bird flu changed to swine flu The ever increasing number of victims that contracts H1N1 swine flu in Mexico and other countries across the globe has caused general hospitals in Indonesia to change their preparedness for bird flu into swine flu as isolation rooms are prepared once again. The general hospital in Tangerang for example, has had isolation rooms for bird flu victims since 2008. Now these rooms are prepared for possible swine flu victims.

Indonesia checks airports and seaports for swine flu The Department of Transport follows the Department of Public Health in preventing swine flu from entering Indonesia. A number of airports and seaports have prepared themselves already according to Bambang S. Ervan, a spokesperson for the department earlier today.
