600 evacuated from Mount Dieng volcano highlands Over 600 people from villages in the Mount Dieng volcano highlands have been evacuated from the vicinity of the crater that is active at the moment. The volcano, near the city of Wonosobo in Central Java province is showing signs of increasing activity, so villagers are brought to a safer location.

Two police officers killed in suspected terror attack Two police officers were killed on Wednesday in a suspected terror attack in Indonesia's Central Sulawesi province, authorities said. It was reported that Second Brigs. Gustiar Yudistira and Andi Ibrar were gunned down by unidentified assailants on motorcycles in the province's capital, Palu. A third officer, Second Brig. Dedi Edwar, is in the hospital after receiving a gunshot wound.

Boskalis gets contract for Indonesian submarine power cables Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has signed a contract with Samsung for the construction of a cable laying ship. The vessel will have a length of over 100 meters and a loading capacity of 5.000 tons. It is expected that the vessel will be delivered in the second half of 2012. Royal Boskalis Westminster B.V. has also won a contract with a value of 20 million euro for two submarine cables between the island of Java and Bali in Indonesia.
